Tonight’s beer lineupJanuary 13, 2007
I have purchased two singles for tonight’s tasting. The actual tasting will happen this evening, sometime after 8pm central time. To whet your appetite, here is what I chose to sample. (Southern brews, as Socialretard requested).
First is Highland Brewing Company‘s Oatmeal Porter. They are out of Asheville, NC, and I have seen their beers around here lately and have been wanting to try them. Apparently, reading their Web site, some of their beer is bottled in Maryland as well as Asheville. Here is some info from their Web site.
Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Asheville, North Carolina, the Highland Brewing Company brews the finest and freshest ales in the Southeast. For more than a decade, we have produced an impressive array of ales, from the best-selling Gaelic to the popular seasonal, Cold Mountain Ale.
They have been brewing since 1994.
Next will be Blackstone Brewery’s Nut Brown Ale. Blackstone is a brewery/restaurant (try their beer-battered fish and chips….best I’ve ever had) located here in Nashville. It’s really unclear to me if they are a chain or not, based solely on their Web site. I have had their nut brown ale before but thought it would make a good review of a local brew.
Anyway, have to go get these steaks on the grill, eat and get the kids to bed. Be back soon with the review.
